Drew Storen

Stanford baseball contributed to this year’s Fall League prospects with closing pitcher Drew Storen. Another pitcher to watch in the otherwise hitter-friendly AFL, Storen will be another Washington National that will be pitching along side Strasburg. Drew was also picked in the first-round of the 2009 First-Year player draft. The right-handed pitcher is looking forward to pitching along side of the first pick overall in the 2009 draft.

Storen comes from Brownsburg, Indiana where he received numerous baseball honors including being selected as a Louisville Slugger first-team All-American. During his senior year in high school he went 8 and 1, striking out 86 batters and walking only eight with an ERA of 0.89. In 2008, Drew would move to Northern California to be a part of the Stanford baseball team.

While at Stanford, Storen helped the team get back to a winning status as he was the proud owner of a 3.41 ERA through 22 games. Notably off the field and in the classroom, Drew had a passion for mechanical engineering and developed a shoe design for a product development project. His shoe design received rave reviews from his professors and his pitching received rave reviews from scouts.

Drew Storen will be one more player that you will get a chance to see on the Phoenix Desert Dogs, playing at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. With all of the talent that will be out at the Arizona Fall League, Drew Storen is just one more reason to get out to catch some of the games.
